- The hold is a “damage deposit” the customer must agree to before starting the ride. A credit or debit card must be given upon arrival when picking up the unit – $1500 holds are PER unit rented. When the unit is returned with no damages the entire hold will be released. (A complete inspection of the unit must be completed prior to the hold being released on your credit card and this can take anywhere from 3-7 days.) If damages occur, we will charge the total cost of parts and labor up to $1500 but will not exceed that amount for damages done to the unit itself. (If the renter is found to be negligent, as per the rental contract, the entire amount of damages can be assessed to the renter.) Outfitter charges that occur past the $1500 can be assessed to the renter. This includes, but is not limited to – goggles, helmets, down time, recovery fees, flags, ice chest, and other items attached to the unit.
- For example… If a unit gets totaled and there is $8,000 worth of damage, the credit card used to place the authorization hold will still only pay $1500 for damage done to the unit, unless found negligent, as per the rental contract. (Outfitter charges may still apply). If the damage only amounts to $480, then the remaining $1020 will be released from the damage deposit.
